My Equipment

My main imaging rig is an 8 inch F10 Meade LX200 Classic, which I purchased new in March of 2001 from Shutan Camera in Vernon Hills, Illinois. The scope is mounted on a Meade Superwedge that is equipped with the Mitty Slo-Mo upgrade kit from Mitty Observatory Machine Shop. The Mitty Slo-Mo kit makes the RA adustment on the Superwedge much smoother and eliminates the slop built into the Meade Superwedge RA adjuster. I'm currently using an SBIG ST-2000XM CCD camera and SBIG CFW-8a Color Filter Wheel with Astronomik LRGB II dichroic IR blocking fliters, and an Astronomik H-alpha CCD Filter.

I also own a 4 inch Meade 2040 SCT that I purchased on Astromart. I originally purchased it to use as a guide scope before getting the SBIG ST-2000XM. Now that I own a camera with an integrated autoguider, I plan on taking some wide field images with it. Below is a picture of it mounted on top of my LX200.

And of course, I own my trusty 18 inch Truss Tube Dobsonian that I built for visual astronomy.
