Jupiter Photos

Below is an animation I took on 05/10/05 of Io and its shadow transitting Jupiter. It consists of 23 frames, each frame consisting of about 900 stacked images. Stacking was done in Registax, then the individual frames were aligned in MaximDL, then the aniamtion was created in Photoshop CS and ImageReady CS.

Below is an image of Jupiter that I took on 02/25/04. I took this image with a Phillips ToUcam Pro 840K, 8 inch LX200, Teleview 2.5x Powermate Barlow. It is an integration of 600 frames of video using Registax 2.

Below is an image of a double transit of Io and Europa of Jupiter that I took on 02/26/04. I took this image with a Phillips ToUcam Pro 840K, 8 inch LX200, Teleview 2.5x Powermate Barlow. It was aligned and stacked using Registax 2. You can clearly see the globes of Io and Europa, as well as their shadows. Not bad for an 8 inch scope!
