M51 The Whirlpool Galaxy

Below is my first real attempt at an LRGB image of a galaxy taken on 5/2/05. It consists of 90 minutes in Luminance, and 30 minutes each in R, G and B. Seeing was not that good and my focus was slightly off, but I'm fairly pleased witht he results.

Below is an image of M51. It is a combination of 10 2-minutes exposures. Taken with an 8 inch LX200 and SBIG ST-2000XM on 4/30/05.

Below is an image of M51. This was one of my first attempts at taking a color image with my SBIG ST-7. It was more of a learning experience than an imaging session. It's not even worth noting the exposures.
